About
Frederic Maximilian Beer Vidaurre, or just Fred, is a media manager, photographer, communication designer and political scientist currently based in Dublin, The Netherlands. His focus is consistently on documentary photography and photojournalism with a heart for portraits.
When Frederic first set hands on a camera, he was unfortunately unaware that by keeping his finger pressed on the shutter button of an F5 he would use up the entire film. Despite this incident, he was enchanted by the idea of creating visual recollections of whatever he wished. After familiarising himself with a variety of tools, he placed his focus on the social realities he would encounter in his surroundings close and afar.
While studying at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Frederic experimented further with visual communication and increased his cunning using a variety of cameras, finding satisfaction in working with 35mm and different medium formats.
Frederic studied Political Sciences at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Freie Universität Berlin — where he dedicated his time to peace and conflict studies, international relations as well as the history of political thought. He continued his professionalisation at the Hamburg Media School, enriching his set of skills in managing a variety of media research, processes and projects. Frederic intends to use his methodological skills, theoretical knowledge and creativity in visual storytelling, pursuing the desire to record the presence of some in a world of many realities.
